503 error when trying to run mamute

I am trying to run mamute by following these steps: - First of all, you need to setup an MySQL database. The default database name is mamute_development, the username is root and the password must be blank. - Download the war of the latest version at http://www.mamute.org - Unpack it to a folder named yourproject/mamute Run it by executing - the bash script mamute/run.sh If everything worked, you are free to - customize mamute folder as you want to!

But when I goto http://localhost:8080 I get this error:HTTP ERROR: 503

Problem accessing /. Reason:

Service Unavailable Powered by Jetty://

The console log shows this:

WARN [JdbcServicesImpl ] HHH000342: Could not obtain connection to query metadata : Connections could not be acquired from the underlying database!
15:28:07 WARN [SqlExceptionHelper ] SQL Error: 0, SQLState: null
15:28:07 ERROR [SqlExceptionHelper ] Connections could not be acquired from the underlying database!
15:28:07 INFO [MigrationRunner ] Couldnt prepare tables: org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: Could not open connection
15:28:07 INFO [MigrationRunner ] >>>> org.hibernate.exception.GenericJDBCException: Could not open connection
    at org.hibernate.exception.internal.StandardSQLExceptionConverter.convert(StandardSQLExceptionConverter.java:54)

I have verified I can login to mysql db running locally using the root username with blank password.

How can I fix this?

EDIT: this is happening because my root user does not have a blank password. From https://github.com/caelum/mamute: First of all, you need to setup an MySQL database. The default database name is mamute_development, the username is root and the password must be blank.

How can I make mamute work with non-blank password?

  • plz post full exception stacktrace
